Saints Just 11 Strokes Off the Pace in Tightly Bunched Field

Just 13 strokes separate 12 teams through the first of two rounds of play at Dartmouth's Quechee Club Intercollegiate at the Quechee Club in Quechee, Vermont. Siena Men's Golf currently stands tied for 10th with Bryant, although the Saints are just 11 shots off the pace of clubhouse leader Cornell entering Sunday's final 18 holes.

The Big Red hold a three-shot advantage over a trio of teams currently tied for second in a tightly contested field. Siena shot a team score of 308 on the opening day of the event.

Fresh off a runner-up finish in his collegiate debut last weekend, freshman Jared Nelson paces the Saints following a +3 round of 75. Nelson is tied for 15th overall with five others, and is six strokes in back of co-clubhouse leaders Evan Quinn of Princeton and Drew Powell of Brown who both fired rounds of 69.

Jack Brown and Jack Bellardini each shot 77 to round out Siena's First Round leaders, with Brown's 12 pars over the opening 18 holes tying for ninth most in the field.

Final Round action gets underway with a shotgun start Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
