The Siena Men's Tennis team began their head-to-head season strong, grabbing their first victory of the season in a 5-2 victory over Holy Cross Sunday morning. The Saints would sweep doubles play, winning all four matches making it a quick clinch in singles play.
In singles, junior
Matt Bellino finished with a strong straight set win, putting up scores of 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore
Guillermo Torres collected himself a strong finish after starting down 3-0 in first set, coming back with a straight set victory.
Sagar Bains was the clinching point at three singles, winning in three sets.
"I thought we played good doubles today after a slow start on two of three courts they picked up there play," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "In singles we have some work to do but I am confident the guys will continue to improve over the season."
The Saints return to the court next Sunday, October 7 when they have their first conference matchup at Rider. Matches kick off at 1 p.m.
