Deion Hammond scored 16 points for Monmouth (4-14, 3-2), which has won four of six after opening the season with 12 consecutive defeats. Diago Quinn and Ray Salnave added 14 points apiece for the Hawks, which have captured 10 of 12 meetings between the programs since joining the MAAC in 2013-14.
Named MAAC Rookie of the Week for a fifth time earlier in the day,

Evan Fisher contributed 12 points for the Saints, which tied a season-high with 14 threes in outscoring Monmouth 42-15 from the three-point stripe.
In a game filled with big runs, Siena raced out to a 20-10 lead at the midway point of the first half. Pickett was hot early, connecting on each of his first four three-point attempts over a four-minute span to help stake the Saints to their largest lead of the evening.
The Hawks responded by scoring the final 12 points of the first half to claim a 34-27 lead at the break. Monmouth shot 52% from the field in the opening half, and held Siena scoreless for the final 4:57 of the stanza.
The Hawks ultimately bridged the halves with a 31-9 run to take their largest lead of the game at 41-29 with 17:04 to play. However, the resilient Saints reeled off the next 15 points capped by three consecutive threes to reclaim a 44-41 advantage with 11:08 to go. The contest would settle down thereafter, as neither team harbored more than a one-possession advantage the rest of the way.
Hammond hit back-to-back threes to put Monmouth back in front with 1:36 left, and Salnave added a pair of free throws with 26.4 seconds remaining to extend the Hawks advantage to 57-54. But
Sloan Seymour banked in a right wing three to tie the game with 6.8 seconds remaining, as Siena and Monmouth headed to overtime for the second straight season at the Times Union Center.
The squads battled to a defensive stalemate in overtime, with the teams combining to miss eight of 10 field goal attempts. Degnan drew Siena back within a point at 61-60 on a three with 2:01 left to play, but that would remain the score until Samuel Chaput hit a pair of free throws for the Hawks in the waning moments. Following a timeout, the Saints' hail mary heave into the front court was unable to be corralled as Monmouth held on. The Hawks hit all four of their free throws in overtime and were 14-17 (82%) overall, while Siena was just 4-14 (29%) from the line.
The Saints will try to bounce back Thursday when they host Niagara at 7 p.m.
