Saints in Search of Third Straight Win Saturday Night at Times Union Center

Men's Basketball Hosts Manhattan Looking to Move Above .500 in MAAC Play

ALBANY, NY - Siena Basketball goes for its third straight win when the Saints host Manhattan presented by CAP COM Federal Credit Union at 7 p.m. at the Times Union Center. The first 1,000 guests in attendance will receive a FREE Siena winter knit hat. 

As of Friday, less than 900 tickets remained for the game. Tickets to tonight's game start as low as just $10 for adults (service fees apply if purchasing through Ticketmaster), and can be secured by clicking the corresponding link, in-person at the Times Union Center Box Office (opens at 10 a.m.), or by contacting Ticketmaster by phone at (800) 745-3000.

The Siena (8-11, 3-3) coaching staff will be participating in Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week, as they look raise awareness and help save lives by raising funds and encouraging people to educate themselves about cancer prevention, screening, and early detection.

At halftime, Siena Athletics will recognize the Hall of Fame Class of 2018, which features first-ballot selections Lesli Akeo '13 from volleyball and Bryan Neufeld '13 of men's lacrosse, along with women's swimming and diving's Brittany Pavolko '11. The three honorees will officially be inducted into the Siena Athletics Hall of Fame is a special ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. at the Times Union Center. 

Siena is in search of its first three-game winning streak in nearly two full years, dating back to Feb. 26 - Mar. 5, 2017. A victory tonight would match the Saints' longest win streak since winning four straight from Jan. 7-17, 2017. Siena has already matched its win total from all of last season in 13 fewer games, following Thursday night's 57-48 win at Fairfield. The Saints achieved season benchmarks defensively for fewest points allowed, field goal percentage defense (.357), three-point defense (4-23, 17.4%), and turnovers forced (18). Siena's much-improved defense has allowed an average of just 60.4 points over the past eight games, and now ranks second overall in the MAAC in scoring defense (68.1). 

Manhattan (4-15, 2-5) leads the MAAC in scoring defense (65.1), although the Jaspers rank second-to-last nationally averaging just 55.9 points per game. Manhattan enters tonight's matchup having dropped 12 of their last 14 games.

Siena and Manhattan meet for the 99th time, with the Jaspers leading the all-time series 54-44, although the Saints have captured 13 of the past 15 matchups at the Times Union Center.
