Saints Tip Off MAAC Play Monday Night Vs. Canisius at Times Union Center

Siena in Search of First 4-0 Start at Home in Four Years

ALBANY, NY - Siena Basketball looks to head into its brief holiday break on a high note when the Saints commence their 31st season of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference competition vs. Canisius Monday night at 6 p.m. at the Times Union Center. The Saints are 20-10 all-time in MAAC openers overall, and 21-9 in conference home lid-lifters. 

Tickets to Monday's game start as low as just $10 for adults (service fees apply if purchasing through Ticketmaster), and can be secured by clicking the corresponding link, in-person at the Times Union Center Box Office (opens at 10 a.m.), or by contacting Ticketmaster by phone at (800) 745-3000. Pro-rated season tickets are still available and can be purchased by contacting the Siena Fan Relations Management Center by phone at (518) 487-2202, online at sienasaints.com/tickets, by e-mail at sienatickets2@siena.edu, or by stopping by the office located at the Times Union Center (opens at 8:30 a.m. on weekdays).

Siena Basketball Holiday Plans are on-sale now, featuring two exclusive options. Receive four flex vouchers for just $80 for seats in sideline sections 103, 107, 118, or 122, or purchase four flex vouchers for just $50 for seats in corner sections 101, 109-110, 115-116, or 124-125. Vouchers can be redeemed for game tickets at the Times Union Center Box Office. 

Siena (3-5) is in search of its first 4-0 start at the Times Union Center since winning their first nine games at home to open the 2015-16 season. The Saints have averaged 85.0 points on 48% shooting including 44% from three, and 81% from the free throw line over their first three home games. 

Canisius (5-5) enters play having dropped three of four following a four-game winning streak. The Golden Griffins are a perfect 3-0 at home so far this season, although just 1-4 on the road. Canisius enters play leading the MAAC in field goal percentage (.446), three-point field goal percentage defense (.317), and turnovers forced (17.4), which ranks 31st nationally.  

Predicted to finish sixth according to the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Siena takes on nemesis Canisius who was projected seventh. Both programs finished in a four-way tied for second place last season. The schools are set to meet for the 103rd time with the Saints holding a 54-48 all-time advantage, although the Golden Griffins have captured 11 of the past 14 meetings. However, Siena is 35-9 (.795) in the Capital Region vs. Canisius during the program's Division I era. 

Robert Lee and Kelly O'Donnell have the call of the game on ESPN3, as well as the simulcast locally in the Capital Region on My4 Albany. The ESPN3 broadcast is accessible by clicking the corresponding link, on smartphones and tablets via the ESPN app, and on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. My4 Albany will simulcast all 12 remaining Siena Basketball regular season home games, and is available to Spectrum subscribers in the Capital Region on Channel 4.
