The Siena Saints came out firing on all cylinders on Friday evening, as they blanked Lafayette 4-0 today to open their weekend road trip in Pennsylvania. Freshman Tomas Del Olmo won both his singles and doubles match to lead the Green and Gold on the day.
In doubles, Siena tool courts 1 and 2, taking the point and not needing court 3 to finish their match. It would be victories from Del Olmo and Guillermo Tores, as well as
Matt Bellino and
Sagar Bains to clinch the point.
In singles, Siena would sweep through on courts 1,2, and 4 with Mohammad Sawani clinching at 4 for the win. Three other singles courts did not finish once the Saints clinched the fourth point for victory.
"The guys played great today with good energy on all courts," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "It was fun to watch today and hopefully it will carry over for the rest of the weekend."
The Saints return to the court on tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 16 when they take on La Salle in Day two of their Pennsylvania swing.
