The Siena Saints put their first win of the 2019 season in the books on Thursday evening, as sophomore
Kerry Gerety led the Green and Gold with three goals and an assist. That would help the Saints to a win over the Colgate Raiders on the road by a final score of 9-6.
Siena (1-3) would see seven different scorers in the game, as Gerety would be the only one with a multi-goal effort.
Julia Pelcher added a goal an assist for a multi-point day, while the Saints other goal scorers would be
Nicole McNeely,
Mary Soures,
Therese Pitman,
Annie Brennan, and
Hayley Kmack. Senior

Colgate would be led with a three-goal day from Daniell Van Calcar, while Noelle Patterson added two goals as well. Tara Atkinson scored the sixth goal for the Raiders, while Payton Gabriel added an assist. Goalie Samantha Croston made seven saves on the game in the loss.
Siena would score early and often on the Raiders, as Pitman's tally and Gerety's first goal gave Siena a 2-0 lead just minutes in. The Raiders would add a goal before Siena socred another three unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead with 14:39 to play in the first half. Horton would make eight saves in the first 30 minutes, but would have a couple slip by for Colgate before the end of the half. Despite the Green and Gold going scoreless over the final 14:39, they would control the lead at the half, 5-3.
Colgate opened the second half with a goal to come back within one, 5-4. Each side would trade a goal to put the score at 6-5 with 23:48 to play in the game. Siena would then score another three unanswered goals courtesy of Brennan, Pelcher, and Gerety to open up a cushion at 9-5 with 10 minutes to play. Despite a last minute goal by Colgate, the Saints would hang on for the win.
