LOUDONVILLE - The Siena Saints lost a close match on Sunday morning, as they fell 4-3 to Bucknell at Tri-City Fitness in Latham.
In doubles, the Saints started strong winning courts 1 and 3 to take lead going into singles play. It would be
Kylie Mullaney and
Meagan Brown taking the win on court 1, 6-3. On court 3, it would be
Natalie Weaver and
Juliana Goehner to help clinch the first point for the Saints.
Brown would win in a tough 3 set match on court 1 at the start of singles play, and
Nanea Perkins won in straight on court 3. However, Bucknell took points on the other four courts to take the victory.
"Bucknell is a very good team and last year they beat us 5-0, so I knew it would be a tough match," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "Overall this weekend I was happy with the effort and the play especially in doubles this season so far."
The Saints return to action Saturday, Feb. 8 when they hit the road to face Providence in Rhode Island. First serve goes up at 10:45 a.m.
