Ten things to know for Saturday's game versus the Hawks:
- As part of Saturday's contest, the team will be celebrating the 33rd annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day, which was on Feb. 6. For more than three decades, this celebration has empowered women and girls to get moving, reap the benefits of physical activity and push past their limits both in sports and in life.
- The Saints shook off a three-game losing skid on the road Thursday evening, completing a season sweep of Iona, 66-45. Junior Maddie Sims led the way with 19 points, while freshman Lala Watts set a career high with 11, netting the first nine points of the night for the Green and Gold. Junior Sabrina Piper (10 points) and sophomore Marilena Gerostergiou (10 points) also put up double figure scoring, marking the third time this year that four players have done so in a game.
- The team went 12-15 (80 %) from the floor in the fourth quarter, giving them statistically their best period this season and their most efficient quarter since shooting 88.9 percent (8-9) in the second stanza of a loss against Quinnipiac on Feb. 11, 2018.
- Following Thursday's win, Head Coach Ali Jaques moved within one victory of becoming the third Siena head coach in program history to reach 100 wins at the school. Currently in her seventh year at the helm, Jaques holds a 99-114 all-time record.
- Siena has accumulated a 292-216 (.574) record in MAAC play all-time, including a 62-66 (.484) outcome under head coach Ali Jaques.
- Adding a pair of assists to her total on Thursday, senior Deja Rawls moved into sole possession of 13th place all-time in the category with 297. Rawls needs 25 more helps to tie Siena Athletics Hall of Famer Gunta Basko (1999-03, 322) for 12th.
- Maddie Sims is now 10th all-time in program history in blocks with 83. The junior needs four swats to tie Bronwyn Tobin (87, 1996-00) for ninth place.
- Maddie Sims currently leads all players in the MAAC in double-doubles, with five so far this season, including three in conference play.
- In a series that dates back to 1980, Siena is 11-9 all-time against Monmouth, who joined the MAAC prior to the 2013-14 season. The Saints have won eight straight over the Hawks, including the two teams' first meeting, 77-68, on Jan. 19 in West Long Branch, NJ.
- A win over the Hawks would give Siena its third sweep of a conference opponent this season, matching its total from the 2017-18 campaign.
