Taking part in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate for the fourth straight year, Siena Men's Golf matched its round two result in the final 18 holes of play Sunday. The Saints once again shot +32, 316 to go +90, 942 on the weekend, good for 13th place overall.
Wrapping up weekend action at the Par-71, 6937-yard Pinehurst Number 8 course in Pinehurst, North Carolina, each member of the Saints' five-man competing squad registered a birdie in the final round. Senior
Jack Bellardini registered +6, 77 on the day to lead Siena golfers by finishing in a split for 63rd place (+22, 235) . The captain was joined by
Jack Brown in going six-over on the day, with the sophomore placing 75th with +26, 239. Freshman
Jared Nelson (+10, 81) split for 65th place with +23, 236, while
Brad Whitaker (+11, 82) split for 71st with +24, 237. Sophomore
Pudge Williams rounded out the Green and Gold's squad, finishing 27-over, 240 in a tie for 76th.
Competing as an individual on the weekend, senior captain
Jack Downey shot +6, 77 in round three to finish the weekend split for 58th at +20, 234.
Following the start to spring play, Siena returns to action at the end of the month, taking part in the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational in Hellertown, PA March 31-April 1.
