Florida Gulf Coast scored 12 unanswered runs to slug past Siena Baseball 17-6 in Fort Myers.
Devan Kruzinski led the Saints with a pair of hits and RBI.
Eric Gonzalez registered four hits and scored three times while Richie Garcia added three hits and three RBI for FGCU (7-2) which has won six straight. Alex Brait added three hits for the Eagles which pounded out 17 in total.
Brendan Conley went 2-2 with a double for Siena (2-6) which battled back from a 5-0 first inning deficit by scoring six straight runs. The Saints knotted the score with a five-run third, capped by a two-run single from Kruzinski. Siena, which worked eight walks overall, also drew a pair of bases loaded walks in the frame.
The Saints claimed a 6-5 lead in the fourth on an RBI single by
Eddie Sweeney, but the Eagles answered with the tying run in the fourth before pulling ahead with a decisive eight-run sixth. FGCU batted around sending 11 men to the plate, and were the beneficiaries of three errors in the frame.
Tommy Miller struck out six batters over four innings for Siena to move into third place in program history with 197 career strikeouts.
The teams conclude the four-game series Saturday with doubleheader action beginning at 1 p.m.
