Jamion Christian Accepts Head Coaching Position at George Washington

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Jamion Christian informed Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio Thursday afternoon that he has accepted the head coaching position at George Washington University.

"Obviously we aren't in a situation we thought we would be in such a short amount of time, but it's a situation that necessitates us to keep in the forefront that it's about the guys in the locker room," said D'Argenio. "Carmen Maciariello '01 will be our interim head coach. He has as much experience with this program as anyone around, having played for us on a MAAC Regular Season Championship team and coached here. He's coached for a lot of great coaches from Fran McCaffery to Ed Cooley. He knows what it means to be a Siena Saint, and I think that's what is important for those guys and for the program to keep moving forward."

The process to identify the program's next head coach will begin immediately.
