LATHAM, N.Y. - The Siena Saints men's tennis team faced off with the Sacred Heart Pioneers on Friday evening at Tri-City Fitness. The Saints would get some tough breaks, falling to the Pioneers by a final of 6-1.
In doubles, Siena won court 1 with
Guillermo Torres and Tomas Del Olmo winning 6-3. But, the Saints lost on 2 and 3 to lose the doubles point. In singles, the Green and Gold went three sets on courts 2 and 5 but dropped both. Siena's only win on the day came in straight sets on court 4 with Mohamed Sawani taking Siena's only point with a 7-5, 6-2 victory.
"The guys played a little loose today," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "So have a couple weeks off to try and work on things to get ready for MAAC matches at end of the month"
The Saints will return to the court on Wednesday, April 3 in a match with the Marist Red Foxes starting at 4 p.m. to open MAAC play.
