The Siena men's and women's track and field team had a solid first day in the second day of the 2019 Bison Outdoor Invitational, hosted by Bucknell University.
In the men's unseeded 1,500m, senior
Luciano Fiore was the top Siena finisher in 11
th with a time of 3:56.45. In the men's unseeded 5,000m run, sophomore
Aidan Canavan was the top finisher wearing Green and Gold, putting up a time of 15:08.32 and finishing 16th. Junior
Evans Kibet had a solid 23
rd spot finish in the men's 1,500m run with a time of 3:50.16. Senior
William Randall our up a strong showing in the men's 5,000m run with a time of 14:42.53, which was good enough for a 32nd place finish in the event. Senior
Jack O'Hara would be the Saints lone competitor in the men's unseeded 3,000m steeplechase. With their times, Randall, Kibet, and Fiore all qualify for the IC4A championships.
In the women's unseeded 1,500m, sophomore
Morgan Serkes finished sixth overall with a time of 4:40.06, ranking second all-time in the program's history in the event. In the women's seeded 1,500m run, senior
Sarah Forman finished 14th with a time of 4:26.95, setting a school record in the event. Sophomore
Anya Schmitt was strong in the women's unseeded 3,000m steeplechase, finishing 8
th with a time of 11:40.91. Both Camryn and
Sydney Johnson finishes back-to-back in the women's 10,000m run with times of 36:36.68 and 36:45.13 respectively. Wrapping up the Saints' action in the women's 5,000m run, Junior
Carolyn Pellegrini came in with a 41st place finish with a time of 17:34.64. With their times, Forman and both Johnson's qualify for ECAC championships.
The Saints will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, April 14 when they compete in Day 2 of the 2019 Bison Outdoor Invitational. Things will get going for the Saints at 10:10 am with the women's 3,000m run.
