Justin Bardwell led off the bottom of the tenth with a walk-off home run to send Fordham past Siena Baseball 5-4 in extra innings in the Bronx.
Zach Durfee tallied a pair of hits and scored a run to pace the Saints.
Siena (7-17) tallied single runs in four consecutive innings from the second through the fifth to claim a 4-3 lead at the midway point.
Brian Kelly and
Carson Dunkel both registered RBI singles for the Saints, while the other two runs crossed the plate on wild pitches.
Fordham (17-12) tied the game in the sixth, as the contest ultimately went extras knotted at four. Bardwell then blasted the second pitch of the bottom of the tenth inning over the left field wall as the Rams improved to 9-2 at home.
Eight different pitchers saw action on a staff day for Siena, with
Dylan D'Anna,
Brendan Quigley,
Arlo Marynczak,
Noah Rubino, and
James Flood each tossing scoreless frames.
Brian Weissert and Anthony Zimmerman each fired two scoreless innings of relief apiece to close out the victory for Fordham. The Saints worked nine walks and tallied seven hits, but stranded 14 runners in defeat.
Siena returns to action Saturday when they open a three-game series vs. Fairfield at Connors Park with doubleheader action starting at noon.
