In the first match of a back-to-back day of matches for the Siena Saints men's tennis team, they would take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats on the road. Despite a tough fought match, the Saints would fall 5-2.
In singles, the Saints saw their two points come from victories at the second and third spots in freshman Tomas Del Olmo and sophomore
Guillermo Torres. In doubles, the Green and Gold would be swept on all three courts, with
Matt Bellino and
Sagar Bains putting up the top fight, falling 7-5.
"The men came to play today, battling on several courts in singles today," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "We have to continue to work on doubles and finish the season strong. We have come along, we have learned to compete in the last four years on the men's side and will continue to get better."
Siena returns to the court tomorrow, Sunday, April 7 when they play host to Monmouth outdoors at Hudson Valley Community College. First serve goes up at 2 p.m.
