For the second straight weekend, the Siena Saints tennis programs walked away with some hardware out of the Hofstra Invitational. This time it was the women's squad, as senior
Juliana Goehner and junior
Nanea Perkins wound up with the win in their tournament draw leading the way for the Green and Gold in the final day of the tournament.
It would be the second straight year the duo would wind up with the win in their bracket. Also taking home a victory in the backdraw of Draw A was the pairing of
Meagan Brown and
Anastasia Koniaev as they won twice to secure the backdraw championship. All the good play from the Saints on the day came from doubles, as Perkins snagged the lone singles win before she was eliminated from the bracket in her second singles match of the day in the Draw A backdraw championship match.
The Saints return to the court on Sunday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Fairfield to take on Sacred Heart in non-conference action. It will be the first dual match for the Green and Gold this season, with the opening serve starting things off at 12 p.m.
