HAMPDEN, MA – Siena Men's Golf took to the course at GREATHORSE Sunday to begin the first of three days at the 2019 UConn Invitational at GREATHORSE. The Saints shot 309 to finish in a tie for ninth place out of 14 competing teams, with MAAC opponents Rider (+7, 295), Canisius (8th, 307) and Saint Peter's (12th, 313) also participating.
In action for the third straight week to kick off the Fall 2019 campaign, Siena saw freshman Nolan Crowley lead the way for the team in round one of the 54-hole affair. Crowley shot +2, 74 to finish in a tie for 13th individually. Junior Jack Brown also placed in the top-20 on the par-72, 7,093-yard endeavor, shooting +3, 75 to finish in a split for 17th.
Beginning the Saints' eighth consecutive appearance at tournament, Freshmen Jack Tobin (+6, 78) and Moritz Weigold (+10, 82) each followed, concluding the round in ties for 41st and 73rd, respectively. Junior Pudge Williams rounded out the team's five-man competition squad, shooting +12, 84 to end in a tie for 77th place individually.
Siena continues play at the UConn Invitational on Monday, September 30, with action commencing with a double-tee start at 8:30 a.m. The Saints Will tee off from hole 10 beginning at 8:35 a.m. and continuing in ten-minute increments.
