Siena Concludes Three-Game Road Trip, Western New York Swing Sunday

Saints Look to Break Through at Niagara

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY - Siena Basketball looks to close out its three-game road trip and annual Western New York swing on a high note when the Saints battle Niagara Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Gallagher Center. Siena has won 10 of the past 12 meetings vs. the Purple Eagles, and the Saints' 58 victories over Niagara mark their most vs. any program.

Siena (7-8, 3-3) will take another crack at securing its first road win of the season. The Saints' last true road win came here vs. Niagara (5-11, 3-2) in a 72-65 overtime decision in last year's regular season finale on Mar. 3. Siena, which is a perfect 7-0 so far this season at the Times Union Center, is one of just two Division I programs (Maryland) which is undefeated at home and winless in true road games. The eight teams the Saints have lost to on the road are a combined 44-9 (.830) at home so far this season.

Under the direction of their third head coach in 10 months, the Purple Eagles enter today's matchup fresh off victories over perennial league frontrunners Iona and Rider. Niagara ranks 20th nationally in free throw percentage (.768), and leads the MAAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2) and has a positive mark in each of its last 11 games.
