Saints Welcome Current MAAC Frontrunner Quinnipiac to Times Union Center Sunday

Saints in Search of Conference Home Weekend Sweep

ALBANY, NY - Siena Basketball continues a pivotal midseason stretch where they play six of eight at home when the Saints host current MAAC frontrunner Quinnipiac in a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. at the Times Union Center in Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day presented by Transfinder. Siena is in search of its ninth straight home victory, which would match the longest home win streak since winning a program record 38 straight at the Times Union Center from 2008-10.

Tickets to the game start as low as just $10 for adults (service fees apply if purchasing through Ticketmaster), and can be secured by clicking the corresponding link, in-person at the Times Union Center Box Office (opens at 10 a.m.), or by contacting Ticketmaster by phone at (800) 745-3000. The Siena Fan Relations Management Center is at your service to handle all your ticket inquiries, and can be reached by phone at (518) 487-2202, online at sienasaints.com/tickets, by e-mail at sienatickets2@siena.edu, or by stopping by the office located at the Times Union Center (opens at 8:30 a.m. on weekdays).

Fans can enjoy basketball and bloody mary's at Sunday's game. For just $20 receive a ticket to the game and a 14-ounce build-your-own bloody mary with all the fixins. The coaching staff will also be participating in Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week in part by wearing sneakers at the game in an effort to help raise awareness in the nationwide initiative to save lives from cancer.

Siena (8-9, 4-4) looks to complete the sweep of its conference home weekend while improving its overall record back to .500 and continuing its ascent in the MAAC Standings. The Saints are looking to build off of their best defensive performance of the season in Friday night's 70-57 win over Marist, in which Siena allowed a season-low in both points and opponent's field goal percentage (.328).

Quinnipiac (10-7, 5-2) enters play tied atop the MAAC Standings with Monmouth just over one-third of the way through the league slate. The Bobcats rank eighth nationally in free throw percentage (.784), ninth in threes (10.4), and 17th in fewest fouls committed (14.6). Kevin Marfo leads the nation in rebounding (13.9), while Rich Kelly leads the MAAC in scoring (17.6).

The relatively new MAAC rivals meet for just the 15th time overall, with Siena leading the all-time series 8-6. However, Quinnipiac has won four straight including an historic 107-100 triple overtime win in the lone meeting between the team's last season on Feb. 17 here in Albany. The Bobcats' Cameron Young (55 points) and the Saints' Jalen Pickett (46) combined for 101 points in the contest, as Young broke the MAAC's single-game scoring record while Pickett added 13 assists to become just the second player nationally this century with 45-plus points and 10-plus assists in a game.
