LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Swimming & Diving (3-8) celebrated the five members of its graduating class in a dual meet against Saint Francis (PA) Saturday afternoon at the Siena Swim Center. The Saints closed out home dual meet action on the season with a 147-75 loss to the Red Flash, who improved to 13-1 in the head-to-head series.
The Saints held a pre-meet ceremony to honor seniors Carrie Bonvissuto, Rachel Brown, Alyssa Lewis, Katelyn Ludwicki and Larissa Nanna, who are all four-year members of the squad.
The Red Flash (8-6) came out hot in the first part of the meet, winning four of the first five events. Freshman Lauren Ostrander then displayed an impressive performance by winning the 200-free with a time of 2:00.79.
The Saints' high points of the meet came from freshman diver Lydia DeLano, who competed as the only diver in both the one-meter and three-meter events. The Burnt Hills, NY Native put up career numbers in both, setting a personal best with a score of 236.75 in the one-meter portion and a new best of 278.20 in the three-meter event.
Aside from DeLano's highs, a pair of Siena sophomores displayed personal bests in the team's final of three home meets in the 2019-20 campaign. Isabel Harms swam a time of 18:55.70 in the 1650-free, while Abigail Sheridan took third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:16.53.
In addition to a dominant performance, Saint Francis walked away from the meet with a pair os Siena Swim Center pool records, the first two that have been set in three home meets this season. Annabelle McCullough set a new pool mark in the 50 free (24.09), while Sabrina Bowman did so in the 200 IM (2:08.23).
Siena will conclude dual meet competition in its 2019-20 regular season against Howard in Newark, NJ on Sunday, February 2, with the meet set to begin on the campus of NJIT at 1 PM.
