The Siena Saints women's tennis team took to the courts at Tri-City Fitness for the first time this spring, as they took on the LIU Sharks in their 2020 home opener. The Saints would fall to the Sharks by a final score of 6-1, as it marks the first two-match losing streak since last spring.
Freshman
Petra Miszczak would score the only point of the day for the Green and Gold with a victory at the #4 singles spot. She defeated Bianca Compuesto in a three-set thriller by a final of 6-3, 1-6, 10-5. With her win, Miszczak collects her third singles win of the season, all coming from the #4 singles spot.
The Sharks began the day with a victory in the doubles portion, despite Miszczak and classmate
Anastasia Koniaev coming just short of victory in a 7-5 battle at #3 doubles. LIU won all singles matches minus #4 singles in two sets apiece.
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 15 when they return to Tri-City to take on the La Salle Explorers. Opening serve for the match will get things going at 4 p.m.
