Saints Host Four-Time Defending MAAC Champs Wednesday Night

Siena Looks to Complete Regular Season Series Sweep of Rival Iona

ALBANY, NY - Winners of six of their last seven, surging Siena Basketball looks to complete the regular season series sweep of four-time defending MAAC Tournament Champion Iona Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Times Union Center. The two hottest teams in the MAAC, the Saints have won three straight while the Gaels are winners of four in a row to creep back into contention. The game is being presented by UA Local 7 and Teal, Becker & Chiaramonte.

Tickets to the game start as low as just $10 for adults (service fees apply if purchasing through Ticketmaster), and can be secured by clicking the corresponding link, in-person at the Times Union Center Box Office (opens at 10 a.m.), or by contacting Ticketmaster by phone at (800) 745-3000. The Siena Fan Relations Management Center is at your service to handle all your ticket inquiries, and can be reached by phone at (518) 487-2202, online at sienasaints.com/tickets, by e-mail at sienatickets2@siena.edu, or by stopping by the office located at the Times Union Center (opens at 8:30 a.m. on weekdays).

Siena (13-10, 9-5) looks to complete its second four-game homestand undefeated while keeping its perfect 12-0 record at the Times Union Center intact. The surging Saints enter the matchup in sole possession of second place in the MAAC Standings, with the opportunity to pull into a tie for the top spot with idle Saint Peter's with a victory Wednesday night.

Siena is in search of its first regular season series sweep of perennial league power Iona (9-12, 7-7) in 10 years, but will need to change its recent history against the Gaels at the Times Union Center to accomplish that feat. Iona has captured 10 of the past 11 matchups in Albany, as the road team has won 11 of the last 13 meetings overall between the longtime rivals.

The MAAC Preseason favorites who received 10 of 11 first-place votes, the Gaels have turned around their season following a disappointing 5-12 start. Iona is averaging 77.3 points during its season long four-game winning streak, while posting an average margin of victory of 19.0 points.

Robert Lee and Kelly O'Donnell have the call of the game on ESPN3, as well as the simulcast locally in the Capital Region on My4 Albany. The ESPN3 broadcast is accessible by clicking the corresponding link, on smartphones and tablets via the ESPN app, and on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. My4 Albany is simulcasting all 12 remaining Siena Basketball regular season home games, which are available to Spectrum subscribers in the Capital Region to view on Channel 4.
