PINEHURST, NC– Siena Men's Golf proved to improve in each of its three rounds at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in North Carolina this weekend. The Saints wrapped its first tournament of the Spring 2020 season in 10th place (+76, 928), and improved three more stokes during Sunday's action.
Elon (+26, 878) walked away as the winner of the 13-team field, while MAAC counterpart Niagara (+109, 961) placed 12th.
After improving from their opening-round score by 16 strokes on Saturday, the Saints shot +18, 302 in round three to go even lower in closing out the 54-hole event. Freshman Nolan Crowley birdied twice en-route to a +3, 75 in the final round, finishing as the team's top performer in a split for 19th individually.
Freshman Jack Tobin (+7, 78) and junior Jack Brown (+5, 76) followed suit on the par-71, 6937-yard Pinehurst No. 8 course, landing in splits for 32nd and 49th, respectively, on the weekend.
Rounding out the Saints; five-man competition squad, sophomore Brody Yates (+6, 77) and freshman Moritz Weigold (+4, 75) each finished in a tie for 57th place.
Competing as an individual, junior Pudge Williams shot +9, 80 on the day to land in a knot for 74th place individually.
Siena will continue its Spring 2020 season in just under a month, heading to the Wildcat Invitational in Malvern, PA April 6-7.
