BETHLEHEM, PA – Looking to continue a hot start to the Fall 2021 season after setting the program mark for low 18-hole score in its last event, Siena Men's Golf led the field at the Lehigh Invitational in opening round action at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Friday.
The Saints shot a team round of +4, 292 to continue a program record streak of nine consecutive team rounds under 300 to start the year. The Saints lead William & Mary by three strokes, while MAAC counterparts Fairfield (4
th), Monmouth (8
th), Iona (T-9
th) and Rider (T-9
th) also began the weekend in the event.
The Green and Gold landed three members of its five-man squad in the individual top-10, with junior
Matthew Ferrari leading the way with four birdies in a round of -2, 70. Junior
Nolan Crowley birdied twice en-route to going even, 72 in a tie for sixth place, while junior
Jack Tobin birdied three times at +1, 73 to split for eighth.
Senior
Brody Yates carded a pair of birdies and shot +5, 77 on the par-72, 7,091-yard course to tie for 26
th, while junior
Moritz Weigold rounded out the team's competition team at +7, 79 to tie for 40
th. The Saints will tee off for their final round of fall action on Saturday, October 23 beginning at 11:30 AM.
