LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Looking to close out the final week of the regular season on a high note, Siena Men's Soccer (8-6-3) used a balanced attack to collect a 2-0 win over MAAC foe Rider Saturday at Ben Cohen Field in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
Siena collected its fifth shutout of the year, while matching its most wins in a single season since 2014. The Saints broke onto the scoreboard during a tightly-contested first half, with fifth year defender

Bilal Hersi's team-leading fifth strike of the year helped the team to lock up the victory in the second half, despite being out-shot, 10-5, on the day. The Saints held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks, with senior goalkeeper
Greg Monroe making three saves in his 10
th career shutout in-goal.
The victory gives the Saints 14 points in conference play with only one match left on the regular season calendar. With today's win corresponding with other results around the conference, the Saints locked up their second straight MAAC Tournament berth in as many seasons under head coach
Graciano Brito, and will look to potentially be in line to host a MAAC Quarterfinal match as one of the top-4 teams in the conference.
Siena will close the Fall 2021 regular season and look to secure a spot in the Fall 2021 MAAC Championship on Wednesday, November 3, when it hosts Monmouth at Hickey Field at 2 PM.
