Volleyball Meets Quinnipiac in Mid-Week Action (WATCH)

Saints Look to Keep Hot in MAAC Play against Bobcats

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Winners of three of their last four matches, Siena Volleyball returns to the UHY Center on Wednesday evening as the Green and Gold take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats at 6 p.m.

Siena (3-14, 3-3) comes off a victory on Sunday afternoon, as they defeated the Saint Peter's Peacocks by a final score of 3-1 (26-24, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18)

Senior Maddy Dunigan's 17 kills were a new season-high, while graduate student Emily Wunder and senior Abby Huffman each collected 10 kills. Sophomore Meghan Johnsson was the standout player for Siena, tossing out a new career-high 48 assists while falling a dig short of a double-double with nine. Junior Gracie Halley and freshman Sara Wagner each had 17 digs on the match as well, as the Saints defensively totaled a season-high 18 blocks as a team.

The Bobcats (3-12, 2-4) have struggled a little this season, and are currently on a two-match losing streak after facing Marist and Fairfield this past weekend. Maggie Baker and Aryanah Diaz have led the Quinnipiac offense, each currently averaging 2.6 kills per set. Chloe Ka'ahanui runs the offense from the setter position, and averages 7.45 assists per set. Diaz and Baker are both strong defensively, but is led by Faavae Kimsel Moe, as she sits with 208 total digs.

Siena had won 13 in a row over the Bobcats from 2002 through 2015 before the Bobcats have won six of the last eight matchups. The Saints and Bobcats did not face off in the spring of 2021, as the two teams split the season series in the fall of 2019.

The match will be streamed on either Siena All-Access, with Joe Mixie on the call. Continuous in-game sideline updates will be provided via the volleyball team's official twitter page @SienaVB. Join the conversation by using the hashtags #MarchOn, #SienaSaints, and #MAACVB.
