Women’s Basketball Sign Four Commits to NLI

Saints Score Four in Early Signing Period for 2022-23

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Women's Basketball program and head coach Jim Jabir have announced four early signees to National Letters of Intent, which were all made official this past week. The Saints will be adding Hannah Finnerty, Elisa Mevius, Nyakoat Ruot, and Savannah Wilson to the program for the 2022-23 season.

"We are happy and excited to add Hannah, Elisa, Nyakoat, and Savannah to our Siena family," said head coach Jim Jabir. "They are each talented and will bring different skills that will help us be successful in the coming years. We can't wait to get them on campus."

A team captain at McClancy High School, Finnerty makes her way into the Green and Gold from the Empire State. A native of Woodside, New York, she earned GCHSAA All-League honors, and off the court was selected into the National Honor Society.

The lone international signing of the class, Mevius comes to Loudonville via Grunberg, Hessen, Germany. She helped Germany to a second place finish in the U17 Euro Cup, and to a fourth place finish at the U18 World Cup. She was named the WNBL Rookie of the Year, and continued to help Germany to a fourth place finish at the U21 Nations League. While playing for her club team in the German Championships, she would score two championships and a runner-up finish in three years. Off the court, Mevius earned a first place victory at the debating competition at the Theo-Koch School.

A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Ruot is an All-Conference level player in The Last Frontier. A standout at Bartlett High School, she would win an All-Conference award every year since 2018-19, which included a 4A State Championship in 2020-21. She would be a standout at the Ice Jam Tournament, earning a Player of the Game and All-Tournament Team honor. Off the court, Ruot has been involved with many social justice initiatives, including participating and facilitating meaningful community conversations and peacefully protesting in Seattle.

Coming to Siena from Humble, Texas, Wilson is a standout at Kingwood Park High School. A former dual sport athlete playing both softball and basketball, Wilson turned to basketball full time as a sophomore. Wilson, a 6'2 center, has lived in North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia before her family – which features six members in the Marine Corps – settled in Texas.
