Siena Basketball Returns to Action at Niagara

Saints Set For First Game in 20 Days

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY - Siena Basketball returns to the court for the first time in 20 days, making its February debut this weekend at Niagara. The Saints are set to battle the Purple Eagles both Saturday and Sunday at noon, with both games broadcast on ESPN3.

Due to current COVID-19 protocols, fans are not permitted to attend MAAC Basketball games at this time. However, Siena and Niagara have joined forces as the schools look to "virtually" sell out Saturday's game. Fans who participate in the virtual sellout will receive a commemorative ticket in addition to various other prizes and giveaways, while also being entered into a raffle for the opportunity to win official team gear, restaurant gift cards and coupons, and tickets to a game during the 2021-22 season. Fans can watch the action both days via ESPN's streaming platform, with Niagara's Todd Callen and Richard Walsh on the call. The broadcasts are accessible by clicking the corresponding links, on smartphones and tablets via the ESPN app, and on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Game broadcasts are also now available to watch for international viewers courtest of the MAAC and SIDEARM Sports by clicking the corresponding links.

Pregame coverage commences at 11:30 a.m. both days locally on Talk1300 AM and 98.7 FM with A.J. Kanell and Conner Fenlon '12 on the call. Complimentary online audio of the broadcast can also be accessed by clicking the corresponding link at the top of the page.

Both Siena (8-2, 8-2) and Niagara (7-9, 6-8) resume play for the first time in three weeks following their own respective pauses due to COVID-19 concerns. The Saints are playing for the first time since a 63-50 victory Jan. 31 at Marist, while the Purple Eagles defeated MAAC frontrunner Monmouth 83-74 in their most recent matchup Jan. 30.

Siena leads the all-time series with Niagara 59-50, including wins in 11 of the last 14 matchups. Junior guard Jalen Pickett has averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in four career games vs. the Purple Eagles.
