Siena Men's Golf battled through wet weather and cool temperatures to kick off day one of the 54-hole Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Connecticut on Thursday. Following 18 holes of play, the Saints sit in eighth place overall in the 12-team field, shooting +20, 308 in the first round.
Boston College (+5, 293) leads the pack after the opening round on the par-72, 6,936-yard course, while MAAC foes Rider (T-6
th, 307), Iona (9
th, 309), Canisius (T-10
th, 310) and Fairfield (12
th, 313) are also participating in the tournament.
With 2021 marking the 11
th straight year that the Green and Gold have participated in The Connecticut Cup, the team was led by sophomore
Nolan Crowley, who parred 15 of 18 holes to finish at +3, 75, and in a tie for 15

Jack Tobin each birdied three times in round one, and tied for 25
th individually.

Jack Hamilton (competing as an individual) rounded out Siena's competition squad on the day, with each Saint carding +9, 81 to land in a tie for 59
th. Hamilton began the day with the team's lone eagle of the round, doing so on the par-4, 343-yard tenth hole.
Siena will be back in action for round two of the Connecticut Cup on Friday, April 2
nd, with play commencing in the morning over tee times from the first and 10
th holes.
