The Siena Saints Men's Tennis team fell just short of victory on Saturday afternoon, as they were defeated by the Monmouth Hawks by a final score of 6-1.
 
With a win on Sunday, the Saints can make the MAAC Championship, but would be eliminated from contention with a loss.
 
Tomas del Olmo and Guillermo Lopez Torres won their doubles match 6-3 on Court 1 to give the Saints the upper hand. But the Hawks would come back and drop the other two courts to give Monmouth the 1-0 lead into singles play.
 
del Olmo would also win at #1 singles to grab the lone Siena point, as he earned the 6-3, 6-2 win. However, the Saints fell in the last five courts in straight sets as the Hawks grabbed the win.
 
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Sunday, April 18 when they take on the Niagara Purple Eagles in their regular season finale starting at 2:15 p.m.
