The Siena Saints got their weekend started off right on Friday, as they defeated the Rider Broncs by a final of 7-0 in their first of three matches on the weekend.
The Saints controlled doubles play, earning wins on all three courts as they took the early 1-0 lead. The duo of
Tomas del Olmo and
Guillermo Lopez Torres set the tone with a 6-1 in at #1 doubles. That momentum would carry into singles play, as five of the six courts would win in straight sets, with only one requiring three sets for victory. Lopez Torres would take a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win at #2 singles, while freshman
Darek Kuczynski would also take a one-sided 6-1, 6-2 victory.
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Saturday, April 17 when they return home to face the Monmouth Hawks at 1 p.m. Siena will also host their senior day, with the ceremony starting at 12:15 p.m.
