The Siena Saints got their weekend started off right on Friday, as they defeated the Rider Broncs by a final of 7-0 in their first of three matches on the weekend.
The Saints controlled doubles play, earning wins on all three courts as they took the early 1-0 lead. The Green and Gold also rolled through singles play, as all six courts won in straight sets, led by dominant performances at #1 with junior
Meagan Brown and at #6 with
Anastasia Koniaev. Brown would win 6-3, 6-1, while Koniaev would win 6-0, 6-1. The clinching point would come from sophomore
Maanya Viswanath at #4 ingles by a final of 6-2, 6-4.
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Saturday, April 17 when they return home to face the Monmouth Hawks at 1 p.m. Siena will also host their senior day, with the ceremony starting at 12:15 p.m.
