Men’s Lacrosse Downed at St. Bonaventure

Saints Struggle on Offense in Loss to Bonnies

The Siena Men's Lacrosse team struggled offensively in the first half, as they could not come back from the deficit falling to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies by a final score of 11-6 Saturday afternoon.
 
Senior Brendan Lantieri led the way with two goals for the Saints, while Jack Kiernan and Dylan Pantalone each scored a goal and an assist apiece. George Rusnak and Tyler Menniti also scored a goal each, with Colin Gleason recording an assist. Christopher Yanchoris would record 11 saves in net in the loss.
 
St. Bonaventure was led by a six-goal game from Sean Westley, while Jake Rosa tossed out three assists. Austin Blumbergs scored a pair of goals as well, while three other Bonnies scored a goal apiece. Goaltender Brett Dobson would make 15 saves in the cage for St. Bonaventure.
 
The Saints struggled to get any offense going in the first half, as St. Bonaventure scored five unanswered goals to begin the game. It wouldn't be until 4:05 to go in the second quarter that Siena would get on the board with a goal from Brendan Lantieri. That would do it for the scoring for the Green and Gold, as the Bonnies added another goal to take a 6-1 lead at the half.
 
Siena scored the first two goals of the half, as they got back within striking distance at three. But, the Bonnies responded, scoring three goals in four minutes to bring their lead to 9-3. Despite a few more goals for the Green and Gold, the Bonnies shut the door in the with a goal at the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth to grab the win.
 
The Saints will now await their MAAC Tournament matchup, as they finish the regular season at 0-7, with an 0-6 mark in the MAAC.
