SCHENECTADY, NY - The Siena Women's Tennis team won their second straight match of the season as they took a 6-1 victory over the Hofstra Pride on Monday afternoon at Central Park in Schenectady. The win would be the first over the CAA foe in the
Jeff Osborn era.
The Saints won the top two courts in doubles, and took the third by default. The pair of
Meagan Brown and
Kylie Mullaney set the tone on court 1 with a 6-1 win. On court 2, it would be sophomore
Maanya Viswanath and freshman
Emma Boggiali won 6-3 for the clinching point.
Up 1-0 headed into singles, the Pride got their lone goal at #1 singles, while the Saints ran the rest of the table and took wins by default at #5 and #6 singles. Freshman
Shelby Madeiros would win her first collegiate matchup at #4 singles, winning by a score of 6-0, 6-3.
The Saints return to action on Saturday, Apr. 10 when they head east to Connecticut to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats starting at 12 p.m.
