LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's Tennis team got their 2021-22 dual match season off on the right foot on Sunday evening, as the Green and Gold defeated Sacred Heart by a final score of 5-2.

Agustin Suarez and junior
Matt Nardone were solid in the middle of the lineup in the #2 and #3 singles slots. The duo also were paired in doubles play, as they took a 6-2 victory as one of three Siena doubles wins as the Saints swept through the Pioneers. With three victories on all three doubles courts, the Saints took an early 1-0 lead.
Despite a loss on the first court, Suarez swept in straight sets at #2 singles by a 6-2, 6-4 final. Nardone was also solid at #3 singles, also winning in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Also winning in singles play would be
Andrea Moro at #4 singles 6-1, 6-1 – and
Jose Pablo Davila at #6 singles by a 6-3, 4-6, 13-11 barnburner.
The Saints return to action Sunday, Oct. 10 when they head to Worcester to take on Holy Cross.
