LOUDONVILLE, NY – For the first time in four runnings of The Murray Cup, Siena Men's Golf proved victorious on its home course on Wednesday. The Saints took an 18-hole, 294-297 victory over St. Bonaventure at Schuyler Meadows Golf Course to record its second team victory of the Fall 2022 season.
The Saints pulled out a three-stroke victory after taking a narrow three-stroke loss to the Bonnies in 2021. Siena's team round of 294 gave it its ninth round under 300 in ten played thus far this fall.
Graduate student Brody Yates and senior Jack Tobin steadied the Green and Gold by recording rounds of +1, 73, while sophomore Dan Brooks, senior Nolan Crowley, and freshman Austin Giroux went for +2, 74. Seniors Matthew Ferrari and Moritz Weigold shot +4, 76, while sophomore Nick Lyons shot +5, 77 and junior Alex Kelley recorded +9, 81.
St. Bonaventure's Jack Angelucci recorded the low round of the day by shooting even, 72.
Siena will conclude its fall campaign at the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania October 21-22.
