LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Basketball Head Coach
Carmen Maciariello has officially announced the program's first two signings for the Class of 2027. Virginia forward Michael Ojo and Kansas guard Bralyn Smith have both signed and returned their National Letters of Intent, and will enroll at Siena College next fall.

A 6-8 forward from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ojo starred at Princess Anne High School before transferring to Moravian Prep in Atlanta to play for head coach Jeremy Ellis this winter. He earned All-Beach District Boys All-Class 4A Region Second Team honors while playing for coach Corey Coffer and the Cavaliers last season. Ojo plays his AAU basketball for the prestigious Boo Williams program under the direction of coaches Ted Miller and Boo Williams.

"Michael is a 6-8 athletic combo forward with a 6-9 wingspan who competes at the highest level," said Maciariello. "He can score both inside and out, and thrives attacking the rim. Michael hails from Virginia, and played for the prestigious Nike EYBL program Boo Williams, and Moravian Prep out of Atlanta." Â Â

Originally from Topeka, Kansas, Smith is a 6-5 guard who competes for St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, New Jersey for coaches Mark Taylor, Reef Atanda, and Dave Ulak, which finished last season ranked 22
nd nationally by
USA Today. Rated a three-star prospect and ranked as the 52
nd best shooting guard in his class nationally by 247 Sports, he currently resides in Grand Prairie, Texas – a suburb of Dallas – where he starred for the Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes (T.A.C.A) the past two seasons under the direction of coach Ani Umana. Smith plays on the Under Armour circuit for Texas Impact and coach TJ Thomas, where he shot 40% from three this past season.

"Bralyn is a big scoring guard and a three-level scorer who is driven both athletically and academically," said Maciariello. "He plays for prep power St. Benedict's coached by Mark Taylor and his tremendous staff, and ran with Texas Impact on the Under Armour circuit. We can't wait to build with Bralyn."

The current edition of the Saints returns to action when they battle crosstown rival UAlbany in the Albany Cup presented by MVP Health Care Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at MVP Arena.
