LOUDONVILLE, NY – Saturday brings a matchup of MAAC frontrunners to the UHY Center, as the Siena Volleyball team returns to the court to take on the Marist Red Foxes. Marist currently sits in a tie for second place with Iona in the MAAC standings, while the Saints sit in fourth place, one game behind the Red Foxes and Gaels.
 
Siena will honor their upcoming graduates, celebrating the careers of Emily Wunder, Gracie Halley, and Madoka Weldon before Saturday's match.
 
Wunder and sophomore Sara Wagner each collected 13 kills last Sunday afternoon as the Siena Volleyball team fell 3-1 (19-25, 25-14, 24-26, 22-25) at the UYC Center to the Rider Broncs. The loss moves the Saints to 10-5 in MAAC play, as Siena and Rider split the regular season series.
 
Halley had a strong effort with 18 digs, while Ece Emrullah recorded seven blocks. Sophomore Claire Isaksen tossed out 20 assists as well. Leading the charge for the Broncs was senior Morgan Romano, as she piled up a match-high 20 kills while Alicia Iafrate led the Broncs with 17 digs.
 
Siena will face off with the Marist for the 75th time, as the Saints hold a 45-29 advantage. Siena has won the last two meetings – one each in Loudonville and Poughkeepsie.
 
The Saints defeated Marist in their previous meeting this season, taking a 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 26-24) victory. Emrullah collected a career-high 14 blocks and nine kills, while Hinkel also showed out with a career-high 19 kills for the Saints en route to the win. Emrullah's performance earned her MAAC Player of the Week honors the following week.
