LATHAM, NY - With the match tied 3-3 and one singles match remaining, the Siena Men's Tennis team fell just short of victory as they fell to the Bucknell Bison by a final score of 4-3 at Tri-City Fitness in Latham.
The Saints started the match strong, winning the doubles point thanks to victories on both #2 and #3 doubles courts. The pair of
Agustin Suarez and
Matt Nardone took a 6-4 win at #2, while
Jose Pablo Davila and
Mathis Tremblay won at #3 by a final of 6-2.
With the 1-0 lead in to singles, Suarez and Tremblay each came through with wins to give Siena three points, while the Saints fell at #1, #2, and #5 as things tied up at 3-3 with #4 singles still going. Davila would push things to a third set, but fall 7-6 (4), 3-6, 2-10.
Siena returns to the court on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. when they face Colgate in Syracuse.
