LATHAM, NY – Sophomore
Jose Pablo Davila and freshman
Mathis Tremblay were both victorious in singles and doubles play, while junior
Agustin Suarez shut the door in the final match of the day as Siena Men's Tennis edged out the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers by a final score of 4-3 from Tri-City Fitness.
The Saints fell behind early after losing the doubles point despite a win on #3 doubles from Davila and Tremblay. However, the Saints climbed back in the match, with Davila getting Siena on board with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #4 singles.
Trailing 3-1 and a point away from a loss, Siena saw sophomore
Dante Russo and Tremblay both win back-to-back in #1 and #6 doubles to tie things up at 3-3. With Suarez pushing his match to a third set, he found victory by a 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-3 final score in comeback fashion to wrap up the night for Siena.
The Saints return to action on Friday, Feb. 25 as the Saints begin a three-day tour in Pennsylvania. The Green and Gold will begin their weekend with a matchup against the Temple Owls at 1 p.m.
