The Siena Men's Tennis team found success with the top of their lineup on Saturday afternoon, as the Green and Gold defeated the Lehigh Mountain Hawks by a final score of 5-2 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
"The guys have been playing really hard this spring," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "Today they came prepared against a good Lehigh team. Very proud of their effort on every court and the energy they are bringing to every match."
Siena began on the right foot, scoring the doubles point led by
Agustin Suarez and
Matt Nardone on Court #1 today. The duo took a 6-4 win, followed up by a 7-6 win from
Jose Pablo Davila and
Mathis Tremblay on #2 doubles. With the 1-0 lead, the Saints surged into singles play with momentum.
That momentum led the Saints right to a clinched victory with wins straight through #1, #2, and #3 singles from the play of
Dante Russo, Suarez, and Davila. The now four points clinched the win for the Saints, Tremblay also won at #6 singles for the fifth and final point.
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Feb. 27 when they finish their three-match weekend with a matchup at Lafayette beginning at 1 p.m.
