The Siena Men's Tennis team began their MAAC slate on the right foot, as they defeated the Niagars Purple Eagles by a final score of 4-3 in a closely contested road battle.
Despite dropping the top doubles court, the Saints picked up the slack on courts two and three aas
Matt Nardone and
Agustin Suarez took a 6-3 win, followed by a hard fought 6-2 on court three from
Jose Pablo Davila and
Mathis Tremblay.
Leading 1-0 after securing the doubles point, the Saints turned to senior
Tomas del Olmo as #2 singles for a 6-0, 7-5 straight games win. Davila and Tremblay both took straight set wins as well, securing the four points the Green and Gold needed for victory.
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Mar. 6 when they square off with the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at starting at approximately 12 p.m. preceding the women's match with the Bonnies at 3 p.m.
