LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Water Polo (4-23, 1-13) kicked off a three-match homestand at the Siena Swim Center by falling to #23 LIU Wednesday evening. The Saints dropped a 13-4 decision to the nationally-ranked Sharks to continue MAAC play.
Playing its second consecutive match against its MAAC rival, used a pair of early saves from junior goalkeeper
Anna Mossakowski to keep it close with a 3-1 deficit following the opening quarter. The Sharks netter six straight goals in the second period, while out-scoring the Saints, 4-3, during the second half of play.
Four different players found the back of the net for Siena, including freshman
Ashley Chand, junior
Grace Boeve, senior
Bianca Prinsloo, and senior
Georgia Vargas. Mossakowski made six saves in-goal and added one steal.
Siena rounds out regular season play with two more home matches this weekend, hosting #25 Marist on Friday, April 15 at 7 PM and Iona on Saturday, April 16 at 3 PM.
