NEW HAVEN, CT – Siena Men's Golf displayed yet another impressive performance in its final tune-up before the 2022 MAAC Men's Golf Championships. The Saints tied for fourth at the historic Yale Spring Invitational on Saturday, with a pair of Siena golfers finishing inside the individual top-ten.
Siena put forth a two-round total of +20, 580 with rounds of 291 and 289. The 36-hole mark was good for the fifth-lowest in school history through two team rounds. Host team Yale (+14, 574) won the on-day, 36-hole event, while fellow MAAC members Fairfield (eighth) and Niagara (12
th) were also a part of the 15-team field.
The Saints were led by junior
Nolan Crowley, who put forth rounds of +5, 75 and -3, 67 to finish tied for fifth individually at +2, 142. Senior
Brody Yates also finished inside the individual top-ten, following up a round of +3, 73 with a +1, 71 to finish with +4, 144.
Freshman
Nick Lyons shot rounds of +1, 71 and +5, 75 to finish in a split for 18
th at 146, while classmate
Dan Brooks carded rounds of +3, 73 and +6, 76 to finish at 149 in a tie for 32
nd. The Saints' five-man competition squad was rounded out by junior
Jack Tobin, who carded rounds of 74 and 76 to finish at +10, 150 in a tie for 36
th.
Siena will now gear up to take part in the 2022 MAAC Men's & Women's Championships in search of its fifth title in program history. The annual postseason tournament is set for April 22-24 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
