SCHENECTADY, NY - The Siena Men's Tennis team won their fourth match in a row on Saturday afternoon, as the win also gave the Saints their second MAAC victory of the season in a 6-1 defeat of the Marist Red Foxes from Central Park in Schenectady.
The Saints opened the match by taking the doubles point, courtesy of the #3 pair of
Jose Pablo Davila and
Mathis Tremblay, as well as the #2 doubles pairing of
Agustin Suarez and
Matt Nardone. Davila and Tremblay opened with a 6-1 win. After Marist tied things up with a win at #1, Suarez and Nardone clinched with a 7-6 (4) win to go up 1-0.
In singles, the Saints battled and won all but one court, with Suarez capping the day at #3 singles.
Dante Russo,
Darek Kuczynski, and
Mathis Tremblay all won in straight sets in their singles victories.
The Saints return to action this Tuesday, Apr. 5 at 11 a.m. when they face off against the Rider Broncs in Schenectady at Central Park.
