Fairfield hit six home runs and scored seven runs in the eighth inning to complete the series sweep and run-rule Siena Baseball 19-8.
Fairfield (31-19, 18-5) smashed 13 home runs in the series sweep to clinch the MAAC Regular Season Championship and secure the No. 1 seed in next week's MAAC Tournament.
The Stags scored in each of the first five innings to build a commanding 12-5 lead. Siena rallied with a three-run eighth, but Fairfield ended the game early with their seven-spot in the home half of the inning. The Stags hit three of their six home runs in the final frame, capped by a walk-off two-run shot by Griffin Watson.
Matt Livingston and
Alex Milone tallied two hits apiece for the Saints, with Milone also driving in a pair.
Vincenzo Castronovo scored twice.
Watson and Charlie Pagliarini – who homered twice – each drove in four runs to pace Fairfield, while Colin Kelly went a perfect 4-4 with three runs scored, a homer, and three RBI.
Siena completes its 2022 season with a final record of 11-37, including an 8-15 mark in the MAAC.
