LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Soccer kicked off its season long four-match homestand with a 0-0 tie vs. Sacred Heart at Hickey Field. The teams combined for just 10 total shots – only four of which were on target – and four total corners in the defensive stalemate.
Siena (0-3-2) held a 6-4 advantage in shots and a 3-1 margin in corners while securing the program's first scoreless draw in three seasons, dating back to the Spring 2021 MAAC Championship Match where the Saints prevailed in penalties to claim their third and most recent title. With the tie, Siena is now unbeaten in 14 of its past 15 (10-1-4) matches at Hickey Field over the past three seasons.
The Saints had their best chances in the first half, with
Annie Bagnall registering a pair of clean looks, while
Gabby DeAngelis narrowly misfired on a good look in tight.
Brooke Boermeester made a pair of saves in her season debut to register her sixth shutout in just 13 career starts in goal. Elyssa Kipperman also made two saves for Sacred Heart (1-2-1), which has been shutout in three of its first four matches to open the season.
Siena continues the program's longest homestand in 23 years Sunday when they host Hartford at 3 p.m.
