The Siena Men's Tennis team continued their torrid start to the fall season, as the Saints came away with six of seven individual singles wins and two of four doubles victories after Day 1 of the Binghamton Invitational on Friday.
The Saints began the day with the doubles pair of
Matt Nardone and
Agustin Suarez taking a 6-3 victory, while
Maxwell Acri and
Marvin Oberli won 6-2 in their flight to move into Saturday's play.
As the Green and Gold rolled into singles play, they began to light up the board with victories.
Dante Russo took home a strong 6-3, 7-6 (3) win, with
Tomas del Olmo taking care of business 6-4, 6-2.
Jose Pablo Davila finished with a win by the same score as del Olmo in reverse, 6-2, 6-4.
Suarez and
Edward Vo also each took a win, with Suarez taking a 6-2, 6-2 win. Vo took a longer route, finishing in three sets - 3-6, 7-5, 6-2. Rounding out the Siena victories was Acri, making a comeback 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 win.
The Saints return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 24 beginning at 9 a.m. for day two of the Binghamton Invitational.
