ENFIELD, NH – Siena Men's Golf closed out its third tournament of the Fall 2022 season in winning fashion, holding on to take the team tournament title at the Dartmouth Invitational. The Saints carded a two-round total of +5, 581 (298-283) to finish first amongst the nine-team field by an impressive 11 strokes.
The Green and Gold recorded a two-round total that ranks top-five all-time, and won a team tournament for the third straight season. The title is the program's first win during the fall campaign since the 2007 Hofstra Invitational.
Three Saints finished inside the individual top-ten to allow the team to card a team round -5, 283 and go below 285 for the third time this season, marking the first such occurrence in the 77-year history of the program. Freshman Austin Giroux completed his second collegiate tournament with a round of -3, 69 on the -72, 6,829-yard course to end the weekend in a three-way tie for second at -3, 141, just one stroke off the leader. Senior Matthew Ferrari shot a team-best -5, 67 to place with even, 144 on the weekend, while classmate Nolan Crowley completed identical rounds of +1, 73 to tie for ninth place at +2, 146.
Graduate student Brody Yates improved by two strokes from Saturday's action with a round of +2, 74 to tie for 16th at +6, 150, while senior Jack Tobin showed an eight-stroke improvement with a round of +3, 75 to knot for 32nd at +14, 158. Competing as individuals, junior Alex Kelley (83-77-160) and sophomore Nick Lyons (83-80-163) tied for 39th and 51st, respectively.
Having now logged two top-two finishes during its first three fall tournaments, Siena will continue Fall 2022 action next week by competing at the UConn Invitational at GREATHORSE October 2-4 in Hampden, Massachusetts.
